Clearing and cleaning your garden is a good idea. Fallen leaves can be a problem as they become too wet and spoil your grass or become a slip hazard on your paths. To help clear the leaves away in your garden then a leaf rake and grabber would be useful.
If you are intending to compost the leaves make sure you add a good mix of other garden waste and food to help break down the leaves. Left on their own they will take a long time to decompose.
Another good way to chop and collect leaves is by running your lawn mower over them, these can then be added to your compost pile and is a good way as they can be added with the grass cuttings, helping the rotting process.
Leaving leaves in your borders can be a good way of adding nutrients to the garden, protecting plants over winter or a good pile will make a good place for wildlife to hide.
